The Music Ministry of Red Rocks Baptist Church provides a critical aspect of our worship service. As we sing and make music to God we seek to bring Him glory.
Every musician is a valued part of the whole, and we are always thrilled to add new members to our musical ensembles. We hope that you will consider joining us as we make melody in our hearts to the Lord!
The adult choir ministers in the worship service each Sunday morning, lifting their voices in joyous praise to the Lord. They regularly sing a variety of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, while preparing larger musical works for presentation at Christmas and Easter. High school age singers and older who have musical talents and desire to use them are encouraged to participate.
The orchestra participates in each morning worship service as an accompaniment to the congregational singing. They also regularly accompany the adult choir and children’s choir. Junior high age musicians and older are invited to participate based on their abilities, following an audition with the music director.
The handbell choir adds heavenly sound to the worship service with special songs performed on a regular basis. Occasionally, they also play along with the adult choir. Teens and adults who are able to read music are welcome to join the handbell choir. Others may participate with approval from the director.
The children’s choir is a fun and educational opportunity for kids in grades K-6 to get together to learn proper ways to sing, while they practice songs that they will share in the worship service. They rehearse during the children’s church hour and are led by Mrs. Laura Dukeshier.
Pastor Brian joined the staff of Red Rocks in the summer of 2012. He has been involved in music ministries for the last 14 years. He has an undergraduate degree and a master’s degree in music and conducting. His main responsibilities include over-seeing the music ministry of the church and school. Brian also teaches music at a local university and works with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra Choir. He and his wife, Laura, have four children and are excited to be part of the ministry at Red Rocks.
